Cuenca Car Share is the best deal on personal transportation in Azuay Province. I’m convinced of this. If you need a vehicle for a day trip, personal shopping, or a weekend vacation to the coast or Quito, getting a car from David and Juan at Cuenca Car Share is a no brainer, especially when you consider that rentals from companies like Avis here at the Cuenca airport can cost as much as $100 a day. We recently had friends visiting from the US, who used one of Cuenca Car Share’s two vehicles for a trip to Giron. The car, a 2012 Grand Vitara, was immaculately clean, in perfect condition and decked with a CD player, radio, and GPS. And while our friends had the car, we got to ride in it, too. An SUV, roomy on the inside, with a smooth ride, but not so large as to be difficult to maneuver on unfamiliar roads. It was perfect. And not only was the car amazing, but Juan and David were a delight to work with. They went out of their way to be sure our friends had everything they needed, including local maps to supplement the GPS. You, too, could be renting a vehicle from Cuenca Car Share for a mere $35 a day, plus 7 cents per kilometer and IVA. (They also have a weekly rate of $225.) Cuenca Car Share is your key to the open road in Ecuador. Contact the folks at this great company by email at CuencaCarShare@gmail.com or by phone at 098 380 0162 (Movistar) or 098 808 7261 (Claro). You’ll be glad you did.

We were delighted to use Cuenca Car Share for a weekend trip to Guayaquil for household items. What we saved more than paid for the car. The vehicle, a 2012 Grand Vitara, was in immaculate condition and we were surprised to find a well-functioning GPS (Garmin) radio and CD player. The owners, David and Juan, were a pleasure to deal with, and drove us home. In Cuenca, we don't find we need a fulltime car, so this gives us just the flexibility we need to do day trips, etc. We have rented cars from commercial companies previously and it was a hassle e.g. a company in Quito claiming a full paint job for non-existent scratches. We recommend Cuenca Car Share wholeheartedly and are glad to see they have a second vrhicle, as we're taking a long weekend on the first!

I highly recommend Cuenca Car Share. The price was less than 1/2 of the other rental agencies. David and Jaun are very organized and made it very easy. The car was new and well kept. Also I felt much safer with them. I once rented a car from Austro Car rentals across from the airport and the owner tried to charge my credit card $2,000 illegally under the guise of taking a "deposit". So it was very nice to deal with honest people. I am so glad they started this business.

What a great experience. David and Juan were very helpful and honest in all their dealings with me and provided me with a car which drove and handled comfortably. The cleanliness and operational status of the car were perfect and their wonderful, warm and professional means by which they assisted me in every way through the process made my entire experience with them very inviting for my next car rental through Cuenca Car Share. Everything was included in the up-front cost of the rental: insurance, roadside assist.

Truly a great company with a bright future, and a great deal for anyone who wishes to drive on the roads of Ecuador. Contact: CuencaCarShare@gmail.com Juan: 098 380 0162.

Yesterday we rented David and Juan's SUV to explore the outskirts of Cuenca. We had no particular destination. It was just fun to drive again after 6 months of walking/taxis/buses. We stopped when we wanted to, took pictures, shopped, ate, and explored the beautiful green rolling countryside. We hiked to waterfalls, had refreshments by a lake and explored several small towns and villages. It was great to do everything in our own time. Driving was easier than driving in many US cities (we are from Southern California). The roads are in good condition 95% of the time, and the car we got was comfortable, fun to drive and we drove all day (13 hours) and only spent $5.40 for gas to refill the tank. We hope to do this a couple of times a month now. Felt so free! Thank you Juan and David for sharing your cars with us in Cuenca. What a treat. This past weekend, we rented a small SUV (Zoyte - Chinese), for 3 days (rental+fuel and mileage = $135). Had a great time tooling around town and took a drive on Saturday to Gualaceo and Chordeleg with friends. Car was fun to drive, very clean and ran supurbly. Dealing with Cuenca Car Share is very straight forward, no hidden fees, and both David and Juan are great guys to deal with. Recommend them highly when you need a vehicle. Recommendation for Cuenca Car Share

I would like to recommend David and Juan at Cuenca Car Share for a great rental car experience. They made the paperwork very easy to do, provided maps and had a very clean and well working car ready for pickup. They also had a recommendation for a bed and breakfast just south of Montanita. They are at the top of the list for car rentals in Cuenca.
